The EM Wellness Center of Okinawa- Concept and Realization

ABSTRACT
The technology of Effective Microorganisms was developed by Professor Teruo Higa in the early 1980´s for agriculture. However, the technology today has surpassed its original ideas to encompass all facets of human life, and the developments include its use in human health and welfare. Hence today, EM and its fermented product EM-X, which contains many potent antioxidants are used to enhance human immunological conditions and natural healing processes. EM is also used in developing the environments of gastrointestinal cavities. Thus research undertaken in many nations, which have been presented at the EM medical conferences initiated in 1999 show that EMX has the potential of developing beneficial effects on human health. These include anti cancer, anit hyperglycemia, anti fatigue, anti ageing, protection of DNA from injury and modulating functions of the immune, endocrinal and autonomis nervous systems.
In order to facilitate the expansion of EM and EM-X in a holistic approach, the EM Wellness Center was opened in 2005 in Okinawa. This facility provides excellent healing care to guests, all within an EM environment, which includes EM food. Furthermore, healthy consultation and health inspection is carried out and EM therapy or EM therapy integrated with congenial tradition medical therapies are adopted to serve both healthy and sub-healthy persons. Thus, the aim of the EM wellness center is to fully utilize the EM technology to ameliorate human health. The paper presents the functions, facilities and achievements of the EM wellness center, to promote a holistic and healthy way of life for humans.
