Successful poultry management with EM
A Geese Breeding Farm in Northern Germany

The Geese Breeding Farm Heinz Tapphorn is situated in one of the highest populated livestock areas in Germany where the EM-technology is slowly entering. Since around one and a half years EM is being utilized in this 40-year old geese breeding farm with very good results. Step by step the owners developed a system which is taylored for their particular needs.

The application of EM has an important role in the sensitive area of adult breeding where intestinal deseases can easily lead to grave problems. EM is inoculated in all drinking troughs and in the feed. Silage from their own corn is made with EM and its high quality has surprised the experienced owner. All stables are bedded with straw which is being sprayed with EM in order to eliminate ammonia and parasites. Each day the animals feed in the nearby pastures which are also treated with EM in order to regenerate them faster.

The posive results, low costs and low work amount as well as the possibility to ensure a positive general framework for the whole farm, have convinced the owners to apply EM permanently.
